The Seals on North Bull Island

Over recent years seals have become an established feature in the waters around the island. Individual observers who have been independently monitoring these animals for a number of years are now collaborating in a project that will hopefully establish more about their status within the Nature Reserve.

Harbour Seals and Grey seals are protected species so please do not disturbed them. Only observe them from a distance with optical aids (binoculars or telescopes).

Harbour Seals give birth in the summer months. Please DO NOT approach the seals during this period and NEVER bring dogs near them.
